SPE and AIChE Classroom Demonstrations

Local Classroom Science Demonstrations

The Mid Michigan Sections of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) and American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) are once again teaming up to promote an interest in science and technology by providing training and resource materials for their members to conduct Classroom Demonstrations in local area schools.

This one-day experience is an effective and fun way to spread your enthusiasm for science, technology and engineering. We provide detailed experiment write-ups and training, and help you obtain the materials you need to deliver a winning demonstration. Based on past experience, students, teachers, and volunteers alike have a good time and learn something new.

A training session will be held on November 5, 2008 (see below for more information).

If you have a school preference and a contact (teacher, principal, etc.) then you can work directly with that contact to arrange a demonstration. If you do not have a school preference, we will work with you to identify a school and teacher who desire a demonstration. Once again this year we will be assigning volunteers to teachers at the training session. If you cannot make it and want to be grouped up with other volunteers we will do out best to coordinate that. We always have more requests for demonstrations than volunteers. Your participation does make a difference!
